New Year's Eve Downtown Countdown!
FDOT needs to hear from the New River community! They will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, December 16th at 6pm in the Broward County Main Library, Gallery 6E. Bridges over our waterways may need to be replaced to accommodate transit service in the FEC rail corridor. Please come to the meeting and share your opinion with the study team regarding sailing and boating navigation.
The COONTIE-HATCHEE PARK ribbon-cutting opening ceremony occurred on Saturday, November 21st at 9 am. Mayor Seiler, Commissioner Rogers and Parks & Rec Director Phil Thornburg were all on hand for the event. See attached release.

Commission Workshops: The City Commission will hold a Workshop on Tuesday, November 17th at 12 noon, with the Budget Advisory Board to discuss the 2010-2011 budget. The City Commission will hold a Workshop on Tuesday, December 1st at 12 noon, with the Charter Revision Board to discuss the City Charter.
The FDOT has changed the date (letter) for their Workshop on the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Central Broward East-West Transit Analysis. The workshop was originally scheduled for November 12; the new date for the workshop is Wednesday, December 2nd from 6 pm to 8 pm at the City of Lauderdale Lakes City Hall, Multipurpose Auditorium, at 4300 NW 36th Str.
The FDOT will hold an Alternatives Public Workshop for the New River CSX Railroad Bascule Bridge Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study on Tuesday, November 17th, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. This workshop will be held at the Events Hall within the International Game Fish Association Hall of Fame located at 300 Gulf Stream Way, Dania Beach. Go to this web site for more details.

Please participate in future South Florida East Coast Corridor Study working groups. Past meeting locations and times are on the attached brochure. The group met in Fort Lauderdale on Tuesday, Oct 20th.

NOTICE OF SWING BRIDGE CLOSURE, August 11, 2009 to August 2010. The SW 11th Ave Swing Bridge (map) will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic for approximately one year to undergo a complete overhaul and rehabilitation. Therefore, SW 9th Str east of SW 15th Ave will remain open for the duration of the bridge restoration.
The NCIP (letter & registration) & BCIP (letter & registration) grant submissions will have the following workshops:
