Some of our residents will be receiving a letter informing them that an FPL authorized line clearing contractor will be working in north part of Riverside Park in the coming months. This notification also states that “if trees or vegetation on your property require trimming away from power lines, a contractor representative will contact you, either in person or by leaving a notice on your door, 1 to 4 days prior to work beginning". The estimated start time for this work is in August.

City of Fort Lauderdale's 33rd Annual Community Appearance Awards are now available on the City's website. The deadline to submit applications to the City is Friday, February 11th by 5pm.


Ft Lauderdale residents are invited to attend a workshop on Saturday, January 29th at 2pm in the Fort Lauderdale Historical Society Hoch Heritage Center, 219 SW 2nd Ave, that will assist researching the history of their neighborhoods, civic and cultural organizations as part of the celebration of the City's 100th Birthday


The Medication Take Back Event will take place in conjunction with the City's annual Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Event on Sunday, January 23rd from 8am to 3pm at 101 N Andrews Ave, just west of City Hall in Ft Lauderdale


The Planning & Zoning Meeting for Tuesday, January 18th at 6:30pm in the City Hall will discuss 65' & 95' stadium lighting at Cardinal Gibbons HS. RPRA president Mark Hill will attend and speak since this potential precedence may impact Riverside Park directly in the upcoming Stranahan HS renovation.

The following Saturdays have been added to FPL's regular meter reading schedule during 2011: Jan 22, Feb 26, July 16, Nov 12 & Dec 10. This change may surprise customers who are not used to meter readers in their yard on the weekends.


The 26th Community Police Academy program will run Thursday evenings from February to May. Applications will not be accepted later than Friday, January 21st.


Fort Lauderdale is already gearing up for the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. If your community wants to participate, please fill in the application and return.
